Upon arriving at work today, I noticed my bosses notes on our dry eraser marker board. This was an item I had suggested putting up , in order to more effectively communicate, and subsequently better effectuate the task(s) at hand. With time, my boss, in her own inimitable way, has begun to tailor her "bakespeak" the way one might trim a bonsai, to encourage new growth. It's not that her diction has gotten more flowery, like yours truly, it had become more succinct....A trend I welcome. Perhaps this is a trait among "Foodies". I believe "Foodies", have such a passion for what they would like to have /are going to have /or have had in the past.....Ingested and enjoyed, that they speak about food without even having tasted (it). Case in point: Upon finishing a hazelnut tart this evening, I immediately snapped a shot, and uploaded the pic to Twitter. As you know, if you do so, your followers, whomever, and however many they may be, get a tweet, and a tiny little url, denoting said photograph. Within 5 minutes of my upload, my friend SunnyD, responded with a tweet that simply read: "MMMMM". You see, SunnyD, is also a foodie, in the purest sense of the word.....She is not a chef, but a better than average cook. She is not a food writer or critic or pretend expert....She simply knows what she likes, appreciates the work involved, asks the right questions, and above all.........She eats with her eyes, just like my boss does, and I'm quite certain , many of you do that read my blog, with any regularity. if it weren't for "eye eaters", I would have no one to talk to.....UGH! What an awful thought. That being said, I won't postpone the onslaught of fetishistic food porn that is about to follow.....Enjoy!
Carrot cake: I believe the term "swathed in cream cheese icing", would not be out of place here.
A comely wedge of cinnamon/pecan coffee cake, Mama Griggs style.
Here is another set of shots of the same item, thru a different lens, I still have a lot to learn about adequately capturing my endeavors......Do bear with me, I....like my craft, are both a work in progress.....
