I really love what I do....But sometimes to make my work more fun.....I talk to myself....OMG, don't let the boss read this! Yes, I have been known to have full blown conversations with just me, and my id! Anyways, on some evenings, my lighter self makes his presence felt, and I mimic....It might be a politician, or an employee, or even a former high school professor at the time, who's accent I had deemed uproariously funny, and worthy of a repeat. Yesterday, was one of those days: The famous , but generic French chef accent, known and loved the world round for its authenticity, when married with a cooking demo. I mean, watching a cooking or baking demo with any other accent than a french one is unacceptable. It would be like watching Hyacinth bucket(pronounced: Boo-kay), narrating a prize fight..Yesterday, in her daily love note to your's truly, my boss had left me detailed instructions on what she wanted, when it was to be done, and in what order my tasks were to be accomplished, and could I please move the bakery just a tad to the left(thank you, John Cleese!). Just kidding, she is not anywhere near that demanding. I was to create a new cookie to occupy a vacancy left by the now awfully unseasonable "Christmas cookies". I set out looking for a shorcut, but un "racourcit" that would produce a tasty, flavorful, soft cookie, more of a "cakey" cookie, allright then, a "cakie", there I've said it. Here is my effort with my new cakie, complete with authentic french narrative, and plenty of accented english, and suitable switching back and forth to confuse those not really paying attention....I hope you enjoy, cheers, dohhead.
